Well, I've been patient and it's gotten kind of dull waiting for something to happen, after all, the mapping community for L4D2 itself has been winding down all over the internet (special thanks to whoever made a thread about that) and it only seems to be happening here as well. That's why I have a suggestion for the next contest we should have here:

A site skin design contest.

I've heard a couple people here mention that they may want to create a skin for the site. Since Djive mentioned not having as much time as he thought he would to create a design for the site I see no reason why not to have a healthy competition.

Neat idea! We would need a guide/list of particular graphics to edit, or a sample (this?) style to start with, so more people are able to enter. I'd participate, for sure

The competition can then last for a few weeks, and there do not have to be particular prizes available (in my opinion). Also, if there are multiple beautiful entries, we could also implement all of them and let the forum users choose (with the winner as default theme).

I'm up for this idea!

I like it. It will give me an excuse to bug DJive some more I make an effort to talk about custom zombies pretty much every time I play L4D2. Despite that however, interest in the game just isn't what I had hoped for. I think something relatively simple like a skin-design event would be a nice change of pace.

My interest in the game has definitely been waning. I put 500 hours into the original and haven't cracked 100 in the sequel yet. I'm beginning to think that releasing a sequel so soon was a bad idea.

As for mapping, I had a crash about a month ago and lost some stuff I had been working on so motivation to restart projects has been pretty low. Especially since I'm not playing as much.

I've been playing League of Legends and Lord of the Rings Online quite a bit recently. Maybe with time away from L4D I'll be ready to kill some infected again after I tire of my current games. Distance makes the heart grow fonder after all!

As for the idea, good stuff Shoo!

That was exactly how I was feeling for TF2. Dropped it since October, and only started playing it again just this weekend.
