RE: Badwater Basin - suggestions/ideas welcomed!
I wanted to update a bit.
I changed the OP with a tiny website. There's not a lot of info atm on the site, and screenshots and more videos, imo, are not as important as getting the example map out into the wild. I do have some dev notes on the bottom of the page, all messy and illegible. Also, feel free to prank call me! A lot of playtesters are saying the pure scavenge can get boring, so the map released won't be feature complete (in dev terms, that's a pre-alpha in the sense that there will be big adjustments). Right now, we can finish from start to finish without any showstopper bugs. We got the helicopter scene finale in place (but needs nav bug hunting) and everything is getting close to dev and mass tester quality. The vscripts are still an issue since nobody has figured out how to increase Special Max to something greater than 1 even with the latest info (as seen in director_debug 1). I'm hoping to get the source and a (hopefully) remotely fun map out by next week (don't count on it. lul), but I'm still antsy for more vscript info. I'm still very new with all the tools, so technical advice will be needed once people try out the vpk and the source. |

RE: Badwater Basin - suggestions/ideas welcomed!
I wanted to upload one of the models I did some basic re-skinning on for Badwater Basin. It's an outhouse rescue closet from hard rain. I thought this was going to take at most an hour to finish, but then I quickly figured out that the porto-toilet was breakable and concave, so I had to deal with a bunch of parameters and tweaking the collision model. With a bit of cheating, I was able to get to work. Included are the source QC files, materials, and models.

Here's a screenshot from a recent iteration, as per request. I'd rather you be playing it, but requests are requests. Promise me you won't look too deep into it.

RE: [Released] Badwater Basin - version Dev 1
Some people requested a playthrough video of Badwater Basin. Hopefully, I don't bore you with the 15 minutes of me running around poorly. The videos are still processing, so quality is sub-720p at the moment.
Warning! Spoilers! (Part 1) L4D2 Badwater Basin Video Playthrough (Part 2) L4D2 Badwater Basin Video Playthrough Thanks! |
